A. Lange & Söhne is extending its commitment as sponsor of the Dresden State Art Collections for a further two years. The Saxony-based watch brand, which enjoys a long tradition, has been supporting Dresden’s world-famous museums, including the “Historic Green Vault“, the “Old Masters’ Gallery“ and the “Mathematics and Physics Salon”, whose collection also includes historical Lange pocket watches, since 2006.

With many ambitious projects, the Dresden State Art Collections, celebrating their 450th anniversary this year under the motto “Future since 1560”, is one of Germany’s most dynamic museum institutions. With highquality exhibitions in Germany and abroad, the institution serves as an important intermediary in the dialogue between cultures. For the international brand A. Lange & Söhne, with its Saxon roots, this has proved to be an attractive communications platform. The company has therefore decided to continue the successful collaboration. “It is precisely when the economy and our cultural life are facing huge challenges that it is important to promote developments that will provide the impulse we need – be they innovative products or exhibition projects that inspire the opening up of new perspectives,” says Lange spokesman Arnd Einhorn, explaining the reasons behind the renewed commitment.

Stephan Adam, spokesman of the Dresden State Art Collections, speaking of the recently agreed continuation of the partnership, adds: “With A. Lange & Söhne, we have the support of a Saxony-based financial partner whose company profile suits us perfectly. Deeply rooted in history, the tradition of constant development playing an ongoing part in shaping the future is a binding influence, in just the same way as the international presence of the Dresden State Art Collections and A. Lange & Söhne. I am therefore delighted that our tried and tested collaboration, which will make an important contribution to the realisation of some outstanding planned exhibition and museum projects, is being renewed.”

With its commitments in the sphere of culture, A. Lange & Söhne is acknowledging its social responsibility and committing itself to the interaction between commerce and culture. It is a common feature of all promotion projects that they should give birth to new ideas through the preservation of tradition. In addition to the Dresden State Art Collections, A. Lange & Söhne is supporting the Salzburg Whitsun Festival under the musical directorship of Riccardo Muti.
