The collection of timepieces is characterized by a wide variety of types. Besides wall,
traveling and table clocks, portable sundials and hourglasses, a large number of various
pocket-watches - a category continuous with that of jewels - make up the collection.
Among the most significant works of art in the Museum are Maximilian II,
the Holy Roman Emperor's astronomic clock. (Gerhart Emmoser, Augsburg, 1566)
