Walter Lange receives the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany

Walter Lange (91) helped to give Saxony’s watchmaking industry a new lease of life.

The founder of Lange Uhren GmbH, Walter Lange, has been awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (First Class) by German President Joachim Gauck in recognition of his services to re-establishing Saxony’s watchmaking industry. The award was presented by Stanislaw Tillich, MinisterPresident of the Free State of Saxony, on 25 November at Saxony’s State Chancellery in Dresden.

Newly qualified watchmakers and toolmakers receive diplomas

On Wednesday July 8, 2015, 13 young watchmakers received their graduation certificates from Yann Gamard, Managing Director of Glashütte Original, and Gunnar Müller, Head of the “Alfred Helwig“ School of Watchmaking. The two gentlemen also took pleasure in presenting two toolmakers with their diplomas, six months in advance of the scheduled conclusion of the students’ period of studies.
