Ulysse Nardin has joined forces with the European company SCI Innovations to develop the Ulysse Nardin Chairman, a unique cell phone. This hybrid creation underlines the brand’s core values and highlights its horological heritage of unequalled savoir-faire and a timeless style. At the same time, it incorporates today’s most advanced technological applications. The Chairman features the brand’s iconic elements, such as the emblematic anchor on its screw-down pushpiece as well as the highly specialised Ulysse Nardin rotor, which can be admired through the back of the phone. The world’s first mechanical telephone, the Chairman is a true masterpiece, integrating the rotor into its movement as well as into its design. Another first for a telephone! Like an automatic watch powered by its rotor, the Chairman is powered by a second integrated battery using the kinetic energy provided by the rotor’s motion. This supplies the extra energy needed to keep it in good working order.
