Versace SA
Milan 1978, first collection for women by “Gianni Versace Donna”. A star was born - the Gianni Versace fashion house, set to become a symbol of Italian luxury and fashion worldwide.
The '80s were a time for expanding one's horizons, flanking clothing with the design and production of sophisticated accessories. The fashion house was an instant hit, with its watch collections (Atelier, 1989) designed in line with the maison's intrinsic style and characterised by the Medusa. It was generally agreed: Swiss made but Italian style. In 1996 Versace won the De Beers award with its “Tiara”, a jewel of over 1200 diamonds and the most prestigious element of the collection.
That same year, Gianni Versace designed a limited edition collection of jewellery watches, springing from a collaboration between the famous designer and Franck Muller, who developed and produced it in Geneva. In 1998, Versace SA, an independent company for the production and international distribution of sophisticated watches, jewels and writing implements, was founded.
VERTIME SA
Vertime SA was established by Versace and Timex in 2004, followed by DV One, symbol of the fashion house's new esprit. Produced in pure white or total black ceramic, this dynamic, plucky watch was an instant hit. A series of fine jewellery collections soon followed, marked by pure forms, refined materials and an attention to detail. The Swiss watch-making tradition and the Versace life-style permeating the collections were, as ever, recurrent. Gemstones ruled the day, with diamonds, rubies and sapphires in watches of the precious DV One full pavé collection, and rubies or sapphires in those of the DV One Chrono collection. In 2007 the fashion house worked significantly on its brands for men, developing high technology Swiss watches such as the DV One Chrono COSC (“Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres”), produced in limited edition. The year 2008 marked a turning point for the company, with the introduction of the first mechanical timepiece with a Tourbillon mechanism, produced exclusively for Versace and the new Gianni Couture watch presented by Mrs Donatella at the International BaselWorld Fair. This precious timepiece, created within the realms of couture and Swiss watch making artisanship, is a true symbol of a hand-crafted model of perfection.
Versace watches, jewels and writing instruments are distributed worldwide through the Versace boutiques and a very selective distribution network. Since December 2007 they’re also available in the first Versace Jewellery flagship store opened in the heart of Rome.
PRODUCT VALUES
Tradition
Passion and devotion blend in the Versace collections of watches, jewels and pens. Respect for tradition combine with a constant search for perfection. Versace stands out for its impassioned study of the meaning and use of symbols, and of different materials and stones. The result: a skilful combination of creativity, know-how and technological innovation, leading the firm to reinterpret and reinvent timeless objects.
Swiss Made
The technological know-how of the Swiss watch-making tradition is a guarantee of quality and precision. The quality of every Versace watch is guaranteed by the “Swiss Made” marking. Every chronograph is subject to strict controls, and all products to rigorous tests. Swiss watch-making is synonymous with production precision and innovation.
Italian Style
Produced in the studios of famous designers, under the aegis of Versace's artistic direction. Exclusive design for those who love to stand out, playing and gambling with different styles and contrasts. The firm's ever precious and elegant jewels, watches and accessories are icons of the VERSACE style, characterised by clean lines, precious materials and the fashion house's traditional colours and designs: Greek frets and the Medusa. And so, classical aesthetics meets the essence of the modern day world, creating a distinctively modern and seductive style.
Luxury
Attention to detail, with a long tradition of prestigious craftsmanship, perfection, sophistication and use of precious materials; Italian creativity and style are all this, and more. Every object is studied and created to reflect the essential spirit of Versace. Attention to detail is the fashion house's most distinguishing feature. The collections espouse the brand's seduction, the precision of Swiss watch-making and the sophistication of Italian fine jewellery. Because Versace is synonymous with elegance, sophistication and attention to detail.
Excellence
A constant search for precious, refined and innovative materials, such as ceramic, and their use in watches and jewels, contribute to create a highly appealing design. An important legacy, born of the successful combination of experience and tradition, quality and innovative design. Diamonds and precious stones selected by expert gemmologist, high tech ceramic, 18 karat gold, anti-scratch sapphire crystal, select premium leather - these are just some of the ingredients of the Versace products.
Preciousness
Constant, eternal, almost infinite. Versace's precious accessories form a guiding thread between past and present, between classicism and non-conformism, between elegance and contemporary luxury. It is an extraordinary world of timeless passion. Ancient symbols are combined with classic elements, rendering each Versace product a timeless, elegant and unique piece of art. Watches, jewels and pens don't follow the dictates of fashion. They create them.
Ethics
All Versace products conform to UN Resolutions, the Kimberly Process and the Guarantee System. Versace buys diamonds exclusively from legitimate sources, because it believes in the importance of ethics.
