Limited to just 200 exemplars, this timepiece is one of the manufactory’s most sought-after models among collectors and fetches record prices at auction.
The fascinating story of this extraordinary watch and the three other “Pour le Mérite” models is now set out in the high-class coffee table book “A. Lange & Söhne: The ‘Pour le Mérite’ Collection”. It has been written by watch expert Peter Chong, a long time insider of the brand and founding moderator of the A. Lange & Söhne forum at the international internet platform “Timezone.com”.
On 240 pages and many large-sized photographs by the author, the A3 sized book provides an insider look at A. Lange & Söhne: its early formative years, the special line of watches which are classified as “Pour le Mérite”, portraits of passionate watch connoisseurs who share their stories of their own collection journey, detailed technical descriptions of the watches, and the first documentation of the service procedure for a LANGE TOURBILLON “Pour le Mérite” equipped with tourbillon and fusée-and-chain mechanism, including its complete disassembly.
The book will be presented on the occasion of the opening of an A. Lange & Söhne exhibition in Singapore on 12 July 2011. 200 copies of a limited and numbered luxury edition are reserved for the current owners of a LANGE TOURBILLON “Pour le Mérite”.
