Good Design Award for LANGE ZEITWERK
Glashütte, 12 January 2010
A. Lange & Söhne awarded in USA for Innovative Design
The LANGE ZEITWERK has won the renowned Good Design Award, making another prominent award go to the traditional manufacture based in Saxony just before the year end of 2009. The prize was awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum – Museum for Design and Architecture and the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.
The Chicago Athenaeum has been awarding prizes to the most innovative industrial products and graphic designs of the world since 1950. The award is not just seen as the oldest, but also as the world’s most coveted award in the field of design.
Among thousands of products sent in from 40 countries, the jury in New York decided on 23 December 2009 to give the award to LANGE ZEITWERK in the category „Personal 2009“ (objects for personal use).
Altogether a total of about 500 products and graphic designs have been awarded in 23 categories. They will be exhibited within the Good Design Show at the Chicago Athenaeum in June 2010.
The Good Design Award is one of the 22 prizes that were awarded to A. Lange & Söhne in 2009. It is the seventh award for the LANGE ZEITWERK, which was only launched in May 2009.
