An 18th Century Swiss verge in diamante set gold and enamel pair cases. Full plate fire gilt movement with pentagonal baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved masked cock, pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm gilt balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Signed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals. Decorative diamante set pierced white metal hands. Plain 18 carat inner case, maker's mark "JA" in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement. Decorative engraved gold outer case, the back with an oval polychrome enamel portrait of a woman. Dark blue enamel border overlaid by a diamante set pierced white metal mask, diamante border to the front bezel.
