The watch has been the property of one family for over 50 years and even though it has been serviced many times, as evidenced by the file of service receipts going back many years, it still retains its rare and original gloss black dial which is turning a wonderful deep brown and its original bezel insert which has achieved a patina only possible with age.

Ref. 1675

When Rolex discontinued the 1030 series of movements and introduced the 1530 series they changed the dial nonclemature from ‘officially Certified Chronometer’to ‘superlative Chronometer Officially Certified’to quantify the superior accuracy the new movement was capable of.

These first 1675 GMT Masters are unique in being the only model equipped with the 15XX movement but still bearing the old ‘CC’text on the dial, it is safe to assume that Stern, the dial maker, used the old plate, previously used on the 6542 model for this first run of 1675 dials.

These OCC 1675 GMT Masters seem to have been made for only the first few months of the watch’ production run, opinions vary on how long, some say as long as 6 or 8 months whilst others believe that it was only for the first 2 or 3 months; either way it was a very short period, making this variant the most rare production version of the Rolex GMT Master ever produced.

The watch has been the property of one family for over 50 years and even though it has been serviced many times, as evidenced by the file of service receipts going back many years, it still retains its rare and original gloss black dial which is turning a wonderful deep brown and its original bezel insert which has achieved a patina only possible with age.
