Curriculum Thomas Prescher and TPHH
Master watchmaker Thomas Prescher, born 14.03.1966 in Germany, finishing school with general qualification for university. From 1985-1991 he joint the German Federal-Navy as Naval officer in and finalized with different nautical patents. During this time he studied electrical engineering at the Navy University in Hamburg, Germany.
1991-1994 Apprenticeship time at IWC in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, finished as certified watchmaker and rhabilleur.
1994 with one year less than normal he finished his apprenticeship time.
Awards:
- Award for the quite best graduation of the year offered by the government Kanton Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
- Award for the quite best graduation of the year offered by the association of Suisse-German watch-manufacturers.
1996 certified master watchmaker Karl-Geitz-Schule Frankfurt am Main, Germany
1994-2002 experiences in different manufactories in the watch business as there were:
- Service -centre of Audemars Piguet in Frankfurt am Main, Germany
- Gübelin Luzern Switzerland, where he did the first complicated handmade unique pieces and several restorations of antique high-end complicated watches. There he manufactured his first unique pieces and some Bras-en-l’air wristwatches. His highlight was the development of the pocket Sunspot watch with perpetual calendar and completely central indication.
- Industrial experiences he gained at Blancpain SA, Lausanne Switzerland as member of the board of director, manager of production.
2002 Foundation of Thomas Prescher Uhren GmbH.
Now he is developing and creating his own technical and artificial highlights / marvels. Therefore Tourbillons are his passion. As apprenticeship final piece he builds his first flying tourbillon in a pocket watch. The fascination of this technique lets him never more disengage.
2002 development and manufacture of his first multiple axis tourbillon as pocket watch. This Double Axis Tourbillon opens 2003 the doors to get member of the illustrious AHCI Académie horlogère des créateurs indépendants (Horological Academy of Independent Creators). During the same year he manufactured his first Tempusvivendi wristwatch “Falcon”.
2004 the world sensation, the first flying Triple Axis Tourbillon with constant force in the carriage as wristwatch was presented to the world. It rocked the whole watchworld. Same time he launched at the Baselworld 2004 a Trilogy of Tourbillons, this set including single, double, and triple axis flying tourbillon wristwatches.
2005 to 2008 developing further designs with retrograde mechanism „Tempusvivendi“ and „Sculptura Una“.
2009 launching at Baselworld 2009 a new perpetual calendar the QP1 with all indications centralized, for a better readability. Launch of a new Tempusvivendy model: The Qatarwatch.
During the years Thomas Prescher developed several technical highlights also for others.
Every development of Thomas Prescher is still the basic for a personal watch of a client.
