A 19th Century English verge made for the Turkish market in triple silver and tortoiseshell cases. Small full plate fire gilt movement, small Egyptian pillars with pierced galleries. Pierced and engraved cock, pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc with Turkish markings. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Signed white enamel dial with Turkish numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Matching silver pair cases, silver pendant and bow. Maker's mark "JL" over "WW". The outer silver case with chased and engraved bands. Third case covered in blond tortoiseshell with engraved silver bezels and silver piquet work. Signed Edward Prior London 63553, Hallmarked London 1843 Diameter 62 mm - Depth 16.5 mm.
