A late 18th Century French verge in a gold and enamel consular case with matching chatelaine. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. Winding through signed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands. Gold and enamel consular case, the narrow bezels of translucent dark blue enamel with gilt decoration. The back covered in translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground, multi coloured gilt decoration in a geometric pattern. Sprung front bezel opened by depressing a button in the gold pendant. Matching chatelaine, the gilt clip faced with gold and enamel supporting three further double sided gold and enamel oval cartouches. Pierced gold chains join the elements of the chatelaine together which comprises two gold and enamel tassels, a pearl set oval gold and enamel key and a gold seal set with a carved rock crystal.
