A rare late 18th Century English half quarter repeating centre seconds cylinder by Justin Vulliamy in a silver open face case. Full plate fire gilt movement with five round pillars. Pierced and engraved masked cock, pierced and engraved plate for the silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, large gold escape wheel. Lateral steel stop lever causing a pin to contact the underside of the balance. Push pendant half quarter repeating on two blocks in the case. Fine white enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel centre seconds hand, gold hands. Purpose made mid 19th Century engine turned silver open face case with engine turned middle, silver push pendant. Signed Just Vulliamy London znr , Circa 1770, Diameter 51 mm.
