Die vorliegende Damenarmbanduhr aus dem Hause Patek Philippe hat ein mit bunten Blüten bemaltes Zifferblatt und blaue arabische Ziffern. Das Gehäuse ist aus Platin, die Lunette ist mit Diamanten besetzt. Das zarte Platinarmband besitzt eine Schmuckschließe. Aus dem beiliegenden Archivauszug geht hervor, dass die Uhr 1914 hergestellt und am 11. Januar 1916 verkauft wurde. Die Gravur auf dem Gehäuseboden lautet: "Awarded the Grand Prix, Panama-Pacific, International Exposition, 1915, S.F.W. to O.P.W., 25. December 1915" (Ausgezeichnet mit dem Grand Prix, Panama-Pacific, Internationale Ausstellung, 1915, S.F.W. an O.P.W., 25. Dezember 1915). Die Panama-Pacific International Exposition war eine Weltausstellung, die vom 20. Februar bis 4. Dezember 1915 in San Francisco, Kalifornien, stattfand. Im Mittelpunkt der Feierlichkeiten stand die Fertigstellung des Panamakanals im Jahr zuvor. Gleichzeitig wollte San Francisco zeigen, dass sich die Stadt vom großen Erdbeben von 1906 erholt hatte. Das Ausstellungsgelände umfasste 254 Hektar am nördlichen Ende der Stadt. Die Ausstellung zog 18,9 Millionen Besucher an. In vielerlei Hinsicht übertraf die Panama Pacific International Exposition die Standards früherer Ausstellungen oder Weltausstellungen. Der Veranstaltung gelang es, den Charme einer "Staatsmesse" auszustrahlen. Auszeichnungen und Anerkennungen nahmen viele Formen an. Produktetiketten und Plakate priesen noch Jahre nach der Veranstaltung die Erfolge unzähliger Unternehmen, staatlicher und nationaler Körperschaften sowie die individuellen Leistungen, die während der Ausstellung erbracht wurden. Die Hauptausstellungspaläste waren verschiedenen Themen gewidmet, darunter Nahrungsmittelproduktion, Bildung, Sozialwirtschaft, Landwirtschaft, Verkehr, Industrie, Bergbau, Metallurgie und Kunst. Trotz des Ersten Weltkriegs waren auch einige europäische Länder vertreten, darunter Italien, Frankreich und die Schweiz, die ihre Exponate im Palace of Varied Industries ausstellten.

This lady’s wristwatch by Patek Philippe features an dial with painted flowers and blue Arabic numerals. The platinum case comes with a diamond-studded bezel and the delicate platinum bracelet has a jewelry clasp. The extract from the archives that comes with the watch shows that the watch was created in 1914 and sold on January 11, 1916. The back is engraved with: "Awarded the Grand Prix, Panama-Pacific, International Exposition, 1915, S.F.W. to O.P.W., 25. December 1915". The Panama-Pacific International Exposition was an international fair in San Francisco, California from February 20, to December 4, 1915. The celebration commemorated the completion of the Panama Canal a year earlier. Simultaneously the city of San Francisco wanted to illustrate the fact that it had fully recovered from the 1906 earth quake. The fair was constructed on a 636 acre site along the northern shore of the city. The fair attraczed 18.9 million visitors. The Panama Pacific International Exposition surpassed the standards of previous fairs and world exhibitions in many aspects. The event managed to exude the charme of a "state fair" with a variety of different awards and tributes. Many years later product labels and posters still celebrated the success of countless businesses, state and national institutions as well as the individual efforts delivered during the fair. The main exhibition edifices were dedicated to different topics such as food production, education, social economy, agriculture, transportation, industry, mining, metallurgy and the arts. Even though WWI was raging, several European countries attended the fair, such as Italy, France and Switzerland who exhibited at the Palace of Varied Industries.
