Robt Roskell - Liverpool, Chronometer Nr. 457-40560, ca. 1830

An early 19th Century chronometer by Roskell in silver pair cases. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with dust cover. Train wheels with six spoke crossings, Harrison’s maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone, compensation balance with wedge shaped weights, freesprung helical blue steel hairspring. Earnshaw type spring detent chronometer escapement, gold passing spring, escape pivots with endstones. White enamel dial signed "Chronometer by Robt Roskell", subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand with gold arbor, gold hands. Matching plain silver pair cases, silver pendant and bow.
