Anthony Shepperley - Nottingham. An early 19th Century English rack lever with silver dial in a silver open face case. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with gilt dust cover. Harrison's maintaining power. Engraved bell shaped cock with diamond endstone, polished steel regulator. Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Rack lever escapement with 15 tooth escape wheel, the lever pivots in adjustable slides. Attractive silver dial with engine turned subsidiary seconds, applied gold Roman numerals on a matted ground, applied gold decoration to the centre. Blue steel seconds hand, gold hands. Plain silver open face case with ribbed middle, pendant and bow. Signed:A Shepperley, Nottingham 1189, Hallmarked London 1815, Diameter 53 mm, Depth 12 mm.
