A large late 19th Century English centre seconds lever in a gold half hunter case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling. Signed white enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gold half hunter hands. Large plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring, gold slide in the band to stop the balance. Gold cuvette with engraved dedication dated 1915, maker's mark "FW" in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement. Signed: Bennett & Son Chronometer Makers London, Hallmarked Chester 1900.
