An early 18th Century quarter repeating English verge by Quare in purpose made silver pair cases. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with signed gilt dust cover. Five turned baluster pillars, fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Pierced and engraved masked cock with diamond endstone, broad pierced and engraved foot. Plain steel balance, silver regulator disc. Push pendant quarter repeating on a bell in the case. Purpose made white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Pierced and engraved silver pair cases purpose made for the movement in the late 18th Century. Signed Dan Quare London 695 Circa 1715 . Diameter 55 mm . Depth 13 mm
