An early 19th Century duplex by John Roger Arnold in a purpose made silver case. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement, Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock set towards the edge of the plate, garnet endstone. Long blue steel regulator its index on the large barrel bridge that covers most of the plate, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Brass duplex escape wheel, jewelled locking stone, pivots with endstones. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand with gold arbor, gold hands. Purpose made engine turned silver open face case hallmarked London 1845, maker's mark "JD" in a rectangle. Signed Jn R Arnold - London 3779 , Circa 1817 . Diameter 53 mm
