David Du Chemin war um 1650 Uhrmacher in Rouen. Von diese Uhrmacher is bisher sehr wenig bekannnt. Er war ein Zeitgenosse von Noël Hubert (1), Etienne Hubert (1), Timothé Hubert, Robert Hubert (1) und Balthazar Martinot.

Die abgebildete Uhr ist melonenförmig und war wahrscheinlich seit langer Zeit im Besitz von der Familie Drummonds of Hawthornden. [1]

William Drummond of Hawthornden (* 13. Dezember 1585 in Hawthornden Castle, Midlothian; † 4. Dezember 1649 ebenda) war ein schottischer Dichter. [2] [3] [4]


Eine apfelförmige Uhr (1640) von David wurde am 31. März 2001, Lot N°303, bei Antiquorum verstegert.
