Glashütte Original signs three-year partnership with the Berlin International Film Festival “Berlinale”

The German high-end watchmaker Glashütte Original has signed a three-year partnership agreement with the Berlinale, Germany’s largest cultural event and one of the leading film festivals in the world.

The agreement calls for Glashütte Original, a company of the Swatch Group Ltd., to serve as Co-Partner of the Berlinale, starting with the 61st edition of the festival set to begin February 10th, 2011. As Co-Partner of the Berlinale, Glashütte Original will step into the limelight to introduce itself to an international audience.

For ten days in February 2011, all eyes will be focused on the films, filmmakers, actors and events surrounding the Berlinale, which boasts by far the largest audience of any film festival in the world.

Last year, some 300,000 tickets were sold for the 403 films from 128 countries screened over the course of the ten day event, and the festival continues to grow each year.

The Berlinale celebrates the world’s top films and filmmakers, the history and culture of the medium, and the extraordinary skills and craftsmanship required to make a successful film.
