Francis Atkins wurde in 1730 geboren. Er wurde zum Uhrmacher ausgebildet ab 1746 durch Joshua Hassel. Im Jahre 1759 wurde er Mitglied der Clockmakers Company und Meister in 1780. In 1785 wurde er "clerk" (Schriftführer) der Clockmakers Company. Francis war in Clements Lane 35 ansässig. Er arbeitete ab etwa 1780 mit seinem Sohn George Atkins (1767-1855) zusammen in der Firma Aktins & Son.

Francis Atkins was born in 1730, and was apprenticed to in 1746. He became a member of the Clockmakers Company in , and its Master in 1780, then in 1785. He worked at 35 Clements Lane, and died in


Note: George Atkins was the son of Francis Atkins who was Master of the Clockmakers Company in 1780. George was born in 1767 and worked in Clements Lane and Fenchurch Street with his Father and by himself until 1809. He joined the Clockmakers Company in 1788 and became Master in 1845. He was also one half of the famous clockmaking Partnership Brockbank & Atkins from 1815 - 1821. In the 1851 Census he is listed as a Chronometer Maker. He died in 1855.
