Baselworld, the biggest international trade fair of the watch and jewellery industry, again this year gave recognition to the sector's greatest timepieces – and the first place went to A. Lange & Söhne. The CABARET TOURBILLON was chosen by readers of the German Sunday newspaper Welt am Sonntag and specialist watch magazine Armbanduhren as “Watch of the Year 2009”.
This exclusive model from the traditional Saxon watch manufacturer Lange, which was first presented to the public in April 2008, stood up with 753 of 11.978 voices through 154 top current international models and therewith clearly won in the category “Mens’ Watches”.
With the CABARET TOURBILLON and the first stop-seconds feature ever implemented in a tourbillon calibre, A. Lange & Söhne has written a new chapter in the history of the “whirlwind”. It is not only an intelligent complication aesthetically showcased, it is also a useful innovation commensurate with Lange’s heritage. The patented invention finally makes it possible to precisely measure the improved rate accuracy of the tourbillon.
