Historisch interessante Taschenuhr mit 52,5 Minuten-Karussellgang Geh.: 18Kt Gold, graviertes Monogramm "WHD" und Wappen mit walisischem Motto "Amynedd a Dewrder" (Geduld und Mut), Gehäusemacher-Punzzeichen "WS". Ziffbl.: Email. Werk: 3/4-Platinenwerk, Goldschrauben-Komp.-Unruh, gebläute, freischwingende Unruhspirale.

Die vorliegende Uhr trägt das Monogramm und Wappen von Sir (William) Howell Davies (1851-1932), ein in Narberth in Pembrokeshire, Wales geborener Lederhändler und liberaler Politiker. Davies wurde 1896 zum Bürgermeister von Bristol gewählt. Mehr als 46 Jahre lang nahm Davies eine führende Rolle im politischen Leben der Stadt Bristol ein und wurde 1908 für seine Verdienste um die Stadt zum Ritter geschlagen. This watch is decorated with the initials and the emblem of Sir William Howell Davies (1851-1932); he was born in Narberth in Pembrokeshire in Wales and went to become a retailer of leather goods and a Liberal politician. In 1896 Davies was elected mayor of Bristol; he played a major role in the political life in Bristol for more than 46 years and was knighted for his services to the city in 1908.
