A late 18th Century English verge in silver pair cases. Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Later white enamel dial with Roman numerals, gilt hands. Matching silver pair cases with a monogram engraved on the inner, later pendant and bow, maker's mark "WB". Signed: Phillip Avenell Guildford, Hallmarked London 1778.
