With the imminent arrival of the LANGE 1 TOURBILLON PERPETUAL CALENDAR, one of the most innovative tourbillon watches with a perpetual calendar comes on sale. This exceptional timepiece is the latest in an artistically hand-crafted watchmaking tradition that has been nurtured in Saxony for centuries. All the more this is a reason to let it hold converse with masterpieces of the past in the collection of the “Historic Green Vault” in Dresden.

The LANGE 1 TOURBILLON PERPETUAL CALENDAR was created for people who have farreaching ideas and consequently will only rely on a calendar designed to take the long view. The complication incorporated in the LANGE 1 meets this requirement effortlessly: not until the year 2100 will its perpetual calendar need to be corrected by one day, and the innovations in its construction set new benchmarks.

To optimise the integration of the calendar into the dial of the LANGE 1, with its off-centre composition, the Lange development team placed the month display on a rotating outer ring, for the first time in a wristwatch. Furthermore, all the displays of the perpetual calendar advance in jumps, so that they are clearly legible at all times.

At the "Die Presse" watch gala in Vienna, A. Lange & Söhne received four awards.

The GRAND LANGE 1 won two first prizes in the "Classic Elegance" category at the gala event organised by Austrian daily "Die Presse". Glashütte Original on Growth Path - Watchmaker inaugurates new production facility in Glashütte

After only 10 months of construction, which began October 3, 2011, the first employees took their places in the new building on August 15th, 2012.

Under the motto „Glashütte Original on Growth Path“, the Saxon watchmaker invited media and business representatives along with partners and friends of the company to an official opening ceremony, held in the atrium of the Manufactory.

The ground-breaking ceremony on 5 September marked the start of construction on the Manufaktur’s new annex. The new building provides more than 11,000 square metres of additional space for more improved processes.

The global demand for A. Lange & Söhne's exquisite timepieces is constantly growing. Accordingly, the successful Saxon watch brand has constantly expanded in the past years. Eight International Young Watchmakers to Apply for the F. A. Lange Excellence Award

The task for the participants of the F. A. Lange Excellence Award 2012: To discover the art of fine watchmaking with curiosity and enthusiasm. Eight young watchmakers from Austria, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the USA line up for the 10,000 euros prize money. In return, they have to construct a date display on the basis of an ETA 6498 movement. A. Lange & Söhne is sponsoring the award for the third time in a row.
