- Am 7. Mai 1889 erhält Sigmund Riefler vom Eidgenössischen Amt für geistiges Eigentum die Patentschrift Nr. 850 für ein Echappement mit absolut freier Unruhe für Chronometer aller Art, inklusive Taschenuhren.
