Biography of the week John Arnold Englischer Chronometermacher John Arnold wurde 1736 in Bodmin geboren. Er erlernte den Beruf eines Schlossers bevor er bei seinem Vater eine Uhrmacherlehre absolvierte. Seine uhrmacherischen Fähigkeiten vervollkommnete er bei seinem mehrjährigen Aufenthalt in Holland. 1756 kehrte er nach England zurück. Um 1760 gründete er eine eigene Werkstatt in London.
